SIMPHOENIX E280

Compare E280 general-load and light-load model pairs by current, enclosure size and braking requirements. Tables follow the May 2023 V1.6 manual; conflicting 220 V and P-duty figures are identified.

OFFICIAL-SOURCE BRIEF

E280 ratings, cabinet dimensions and manual revisions

Choose E280 by its complete order code and motor current. In the May 2023 V1.6 manual, E280-4T0150G/4T0185P is rated 15 kW / 32 A for general load or 18.5 kW / 37 A for steady light load. The smaller E280-4T0110G/4T0150P also carries a 15 kW designation, but only on its light-load rating. Its general-load rating is 11 kW / 25 A. These two drives have different housings and braking-resistor entries. [E1, pp. 8, 20, 230]

Read the voltage, power and duty together

In E280-4T0150G, 4 identifies the 380 V class, T means three-phase, 0150 identifies the 15.0 kW power step and G identifies general-load duty. The alternative P designation is the steady-light-load rating of the same table row. For the model pairs below, both codes start with E280-; the slash separates the G and P designations, rather than combining two independent ratings. [E1, pp. 6–8]

The V1.6 model table covers 380 V G ratings from 1.1 to 400 kW and paired P ratings from 1.5 to 450 kW. Its 220 V table runs from E280-2T0022 to E280-2T0900, or 2.2–90 kW. The official brochure extends that 220 V table to 160 kW; use the revision-specific table on the quotation. [E1, p. 8] [E3, PDF p. 7]

Selected 380 V model pairs

These are rated output currents, not input currents. The values below follow the V1.6 manual's model table. Select the G or P duty first, then compare the corresponding current against the motor and operating cycle. [E1, p. 8]

Dimensions: the two “15 kW” entries occupy different cabinets

All dimensions below are millimetres, ordered W × H × D. W1 × H1 is mounting-hole spacing. For the 11 kW G / 15 kW P housing, the W1 cell prints both 169 and 166 without explaining their relationship in that table; obtain the applicable drawing before drilling that panel. The 15 kW G / 18.5 kW P housing is wider and substantially taller. [E1, pp. 18–20]

Braking: the unit and resistor are separate selections

The V1.6 braking table lists the braking unit as standard through the 22 kW G row and optional from the 30 kW G row among the entries below. Its resistor values are minimum resistance limits paired with reference power entries, not a universal resistor package for every stopping cycle. Section 12.6 relates selection to inertia, deceleration time and braking duty. [E1, pp. 229–230]

A frequent-stop conveyor and a lightly braked pump can require different resistor thermal capacities even when both use the same drive. Provide the stopping frequency, deceleration time and load inertia with the RFQ, and have the supplier confirm the braking unit, resistor and protection as one configuration.

Which E280 PDF applies?

The official download centre links V1.6, dated May 2023. The product page's DOWNLOAD button still links V1.3, dated September 2018. Both were available on 4 November 2026. V1.3's 380 V model table ends at the 315 kW G / 350 kW P pair; V1.6 adds the 350/400 and 400/450 kW pairs and a 220 V table. The separate seven-page brochure does not print a revision identifier. [E1, PDF pp. 2, 17] [E2, PDF pp. 1, 16–17] [E3]

220 V supply phase
V1.6 p. 9 calls the 2T series single-phase, although its code diagram says T means three-phase and the brochure labels the 220 V table three-phase. Obtain a written supply specification for the quoted 2T model.
Overload
V1.6 p. 10 gives G duty as 110% continuous, 150% for 90 s and 180% for 2 s. It prints P duty as 150% continuous; the brochure prints 105% continuous. Confirm the P-duty limit rather than using the larger figure for sizing.
One 220 V current discrepancy
E280-2T0075 is 32 A in V1.6 p. 8 and 33 A in the brochure's model table. The 380 V selections above follow the manual.

Prepare an E280 quotation

  1. State the full G or P model, motor rated current, supply voltage and phase.
  2. Request the delivered unit's manual revision and drawing, including mounting pattern and ventilation space.
  3. Specify starting load, overload duration, stopping cycle and braking components.
  4. List the PLC interface, encoder feedback and communications hardware required.
  5. Ask the supplier to resolve the specific 220 V or P-duty conflicts if they affect the order.

For legal entity and product-range context, see the SIMPHOENIX manufacturer profile. Send the selected configuration through the E280 inquiry form.
