Dalian Powtran Technology Co., Ltd.
POWTRAN’s Dalian enterprise was established on 21 January 2001. Its motor-industry background developed into drive research, dedicated process controls and complete electrical equipment. Published applications show the breadth of that work: pressure-feedback pumping, screw-compressor motor control and a separate medium-frequency power supply for oilfield heating.

Dalian enterprise established
The founding chapter gives 21 January 2001 as the establishment date of Dalian Powtran Technology Co., Ltd.[1]
An electrical-drive business with a motor-industry foundation
The founding account connects the new enterprise with Dalian’s motor-manufacturing background and the development of power-electronic products. The current company overview identifies Dalian, Shenzhen and Dongguan as operating centres, supported by a wider domestic service network. Those locations describe the company’s organisation; the quotation and delivery documents should identify the legal seller, ship-from location and support team for the actual order.[1][2]
Drive development and a documented standards contribution.
The company’s engineering background has both a corporate account and a public standards record.
Electrical-drive development platforms
POWTRAN’s brand overview describes a provincial electrical-drive engineering technology research centre and development platforms for vector control, servo drives, new energy and photovoltaic inversion. The historical account discusses university and institute expertise alongside its motor-industry roots. These sources describe how the company presents its research operation and help explain the move from general inverters into dedicated process equipment.[1][2]
A specific test-method standard
The national standards platform names 大连普传科技股份有限公司 among the drafting organisations for GB/T 30844.2-2014, covering test methods for general variable-frequency drives at 1 kV and below. The record says the edition was withdrawn on 1 July 2025 and fully replaced by GB/T 30844.2-2024. This is a documented historical industry contribution. A supplied product’s conformity and acceptance requirements should reference the applicable current documents in the offer.[3]
The PI500 water-supply application starts with a pressure signal.
The November 2018 explanation connects the drive to the pump, pipeline and pressure-measurement equipment.
A closed loop around the pipeline
POWTRAN describes a system containing a pump unit, stabilising tank, pressure sensor, control cabinet and valves. The drive’s PID compares pressure feedback with the setpoint and changes pump speed through output frequency. As demand rises and pressure falls, the controller increases speed; when demand reduces, it slows the pump. This is an application explanation of the control relationship, rather than a named customer installation.[4]
Sensor type and scale belong in the brief
The article distinguishes a potentiometer-type remote pressure gauge from a current-output pressure transmitter. It gives a setpoint example in which 0.5 MPa desired pressure against a 1.0 MPa full-scale gauge corresponds to 50%. It also discusses sleep and wake behaviour under PID control. For a new system, specify the sensor’s electrical output and full-scale pressure, the required operating pressure and minimum pump speed alongside the motor data.[4]
Adding pumps changes the control and switching scope.
The same water-supply article treats the multi-pump arrangement separately from the single-pump PID example.
Variable-speed and mains-frequency operation
The multi-pump explanation combines inverter-fed and mains-fed motor paths, with pumps added as water demand exceeds the capacity of the running pump. It describes a VC-3200 constant-pressure controller with separate measured-value and setpoint displays, and status indications for variable-frequency or line-frequency pump operation. Those additional controller and switching functions are a system scope, not an automatic feature of every drive-only supply.[4]
Agree the engineering boundary
The published application calls for interlocking between mains bypass and inverter output and distinguishes the motor-protection requirements of mains operation. A pumping enquiry should therefore identify the number of pumps, duty/standby logic, required pressure feedback and cabinet switching arrangement. Request the supplier’s single-line diagram and control description for the proposed system. The 2018 example is useful context; commissioning settings should follow the delivered hardware and its matching manual.[4]
PI500-C is a dedicated screw-compressor control route.
Its product description identifies the motor types and operator-setting interface.
Motor and process control
POWTRAN describes PI500-C as developed for screw-compressor process control. The page states support for permanent-magnet synchronous and asynchronous compressor motors. That identifies the intended product task and motor scope, while the actual motor parameters and compressor sequence still need to accompany the selected drive model.[5]
Keypad or touchscreen settings
The product description says control parameters can be entered through the inverter keypad or a touchscreen, with Chinese and English interfaces. For a compressor package, identify the operator interface, existing sensors, motor data and the division of control responsibilities in the enquiry. Keep PI500-C’s dedicated process functions attached to this variant rather than treating them as specifications for a general PI500 inverter.[5]
PI500-I addresses a heating load rather than a pump motor.
The September 2019 oilfield account shows a different application of power-electronic conversion.
A hollow-rod heating circuit
The report describes a heating cable routed through a hollow sucker rod to form an electrical circuit with the rod. The purpose is to heat viscous or wax-bearing crude along the tubing. PI500-I is described as a medium-frequency power supply with adjustable output voltage and current and constant-power, constant-voltage or constant-current control routes. An intermediate-frequency transformer is part of the described output system.[6]
Reported field use and the equipment boundary
POWTRAN’s account identifies application sites in Liaohe, Daqing and North China oilfields and lists other oilfields in its narrative. These are manufacturer-reported applications, not independently measured platform results. The useful distinction for a buyer is the load: the heating circuit, transformer, cable and power-control requirements form the proposal. PI500-I’s heating output must not be used as a motor-drive rating for a compressor or water pump.[6]
PS9550 makes the inverter part of delivered electrical equipment.
The current product page describes a PI500-based integrated control cabinet.
Drive, peripheral circuits and display controls
The PS9550 description identifies the PI500 high-performance vector-inverter platform, modularised within a cabinet with corresponding peripheral control circuits and display controls. The cabinet’s actual equipment list and drawings define what is included. State the incoming supply, motor duty, process inputs, required switching and installation environment when discussing the complete equipment.[7]
Identify the model document before comparing ratings
The current English download library lists a PI500 user manual at V5.1 alongside newer PI120 and PI550-family documents. Keep the offered model, firmware, options and matching manual together. For a cabinet project, add the general-arrangement drawing, circuit diagrams, control description and acceptance-test scope. For a drive-only replacement, identify that narrower supply boundary so proposals can be compared on the equipment actually delivered.[8]

Buyer questions
Was the present Dalian company founded in 1984?
The history identifies 1984 as a preceding technology-introduction milestone. The Dalian enterprise was established on 21 January 2001.
Does the standards record establish a current product certificate?
It records POWTRAN’s participation in drafting the 2014 test-method standard. That edition was replaced; supplied-product requirements belong in the current offer and acceptance documents.
Is the multi-pump controller included with every PI500?
The application discusses a separate multi-pump control and switching arrangement. Confirm the controller, cabinet and pump-staging scope in the proposed system.
Is PI500-I’s heating output interchangeable with a motor-drive specification?
No. Its published application concerns a hollow-rod heating circuit and medium-frequency power conversion, with a different load and output-system boundary.
